I was watching a late-night TV talk show and one of the yakkers made the comment that the word “star” is thrown around too lightly when used in conjunction with the word “porn” – not every porn participant qualifies to be described as a PORN STAR.

Now Lee Ryder was a porn star.

Lee Ryder exuded a boyish manly masculinity that made sex between men sex between men.  It’s hard to believe he only made 13 movies. I’ve probably jerked off to Lee Ryder more than anyone ever.  I think I even owned the Lee Ryder “realistic” dildo at some point.

One of my favorite Lee Ryder movies is SCREENPLAY – winner of the 1984 “Best Gay Film” by the Gay Critics Association (recently re-released on DVD by Bijou Video) – if you can get past the lame ‘screenplay’ – some of the fuck sex scenes are pure Treasure Island – check out the final scene where Lee fucks the hell out of Jon King.  I still remember Screenplay’s marketing that it featured the world’s first underwater cum shot!  One of my favorite scenes is this very un-Treasure Island Media- clip where Lee gets a covert under the table handjob in a crowded dining room while a bunch of other guys are eating breakfast.  It’s both super hot and super ridiculous all at the same time.

My other favorite Lee Ryder movie is SPOKES.  Pre-condom my ass – these movies are about as bareback raw breeding as you can get.

They don’t make porn stars like Lee Ryder anymore (I mean c’mon – he’s sitting on a bear skin rug!).

Or at least – I haven’t found him yet – and believe me – I been looking.

Lee Ryder died in 1991 at the all too young age of 31.
